Collage and Paintings 2001-present.
In 1993 I exhibited a group of sculptures called Light within Form. While working on this series I became conscious of how, in my peripheral vision, light had stimulated my senses.
In a fraction of a second, bits and pieces from a moving landscape are recorded in the mind’s eye. A road disappears into the horizon; a patch of grass dances in the wind; reflections of broken glass radiate fragments of light and colour. This ongoing interest in light on surface, of objects found raw in nature or on city streets finds its form in the marked and painted panels of Land Language.
Wall Sketches (top three images) are small studies that evolved from earlier wall drawing installations. They combine found or previously constructed objects with graphite directly on a wall.
